Bangalore: Woman creates ‘bomb scare’ at Kempegowda International Airport, punches CISF officer; arrested

The accused woman was identified as Manasi Satheebainu (31). She is a resident of Kerals’s Kozhikode district.

New Delhi: A woman was arrested by the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) for allegedly creating a bomb scare and thrashing a CISF officer at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Friday.

The accused woman was identified as Manasi Satheebainu (31). She is a resident of Kerals’s Kozhikode district.

According to reports, the incident took place on Friday at the boarding gate of the airport between 8.15 am and 8.40 am.

Police registered a case against her on the complaint of CISF officer Sandeep Singh.

Arrested

Also, she threatened the CISF that she would cause a bomb explosion at the airport if she failed to reach Kolkata as soon as possible. When the CISF jawan tried to calm her down, she grabbed him by his uniform collar and she also allegedly kicked and punched him in the face.

She also created panic among other passengers by shouting that there was a bomb at the airport and they needed to vacate the place, read the complaint.

Soon other officers reached the spot and the woman was for her behaviour. Following this, she was handed over to BIAL police. A case was registered against her under IPC sections 505, 323 and 353.

Probe revealed that the woman did so after she missed her flight to Kolkata.
