New Delhi: The Income Tax operation in the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Delhi and Mumbai offices continues for the third day.

The Income Tax survey is done to investigate issues related to international taxation and transfer pricing of BBC subsidiary companies, said Officials.

According to Sources at least ten senior staffers have been in the Delhi office since the survey started.

BBC Delhi said they were broadcasting their news packages like usual and several employees have been asked to work from home.

They also said that they were cooperating with the Income Tax officials in the survey.

Also, the Income Tax authorities have not yet given the exact date or time for calling the operation closed.

Officials said the Income Tax survey is being conducted to investigate issues related to international taxation and transfer pricing of BBC subsidiary companies.

The company is also being asked about its financial transactions, the company structure, and several other details about the organization.

The Officials are also keeping a copy of the information gathered on an electronic device.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties in India have called the move a “political vendetta”.

However, no official statements have been made by the Income Tax department in this regard.

Last week, the Supreme Court dismissed a plea seeking the imposition of a complete ban on the BBC in India for a documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots.
