New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a businessman in Bengaluru has set his son on fire over a financial dispute in Valmiki Nagar, Chamarajpet on April 1.

However, the son died due to burn injuries in the hospital. The incident was reported from  Valmiki Nagar area of the city on April 1 and the incident was caught on CCTV.

Meanwhile, Police arrested the suspect on Thursday (April 7), hours after his injured son’s death.

A complaint was also lodged by a neighbour against him.

The video is now gone viral on social media, where the victim (Arpit) is seen coming out of the building,  drenched in paint thinner (a spirit-based solvent).

Following which, the accused can be seen following him and lights a matchstick and throws it at him.

It is also clearly seen that, the victim’s father failed in his first attempt, but in the second attempt he lights the matchstick and set his clothes ablaze after which the 25 year old Arpit is seen running from the spot with his clothes on fire.

Following this incident, the locals rushed him to Victoria Hospital. He was said to have suffered 60 per cent burn injuries and kept fighting for his life for two days. Two days later, Arpit succumbed during treatment on Thursday morning.

Surender, the accused is said to run a fabrication business. It is said that an argument began between son and father when Arpit  failed to give details of ₹ 1.5 crore when the father asked him for account details.
