Bharat Jodo Yatra: Rahul ties mother Sonia’s shoelace as latter joins march in Mandya, PIC is viral

New Delhi: A heartwarming picture emerged from the Congress Bharat Jodo Yatra on Thursday, as the party undertakes a mammoth 3,500 km journey to mobilize support and ‘re-enforce the social fabric’ of the country ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul Gandhi was seen tying the shoelace of mother Sonia Gandhi during the padyatra. The photo landed on social media and went viral in no time. In the viral image, Rahul can be seen reaching mother Sonia’s shoes to tie the lace while mother watches on.

Earlier this morning, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had joined the party’s ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, currently crossing through Karnataka. She also walked with the party workers before Rahul sent her back after walking for 15 minutes, reports said. This is the first time that Sonia Gandhi participated in the Yatra and made her physical presence in the Yatra.

Sonia Gandhi had arrived in the historic town of Mysore on Monday afternoon. She joined the yatra this morning when it resumed after two-day break for Dussehra in Mandya.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra will traverse through Karnataka for 21 days and would cover a distance of about 511 km. It is set to cover length & breath of the country, starting from Kanyakumari & culminating at Kashmir. Having entered 26th day of the arduous journey, the party has already covered 2 South India districts including Kerala & Tamil Nadu.
