New Delhi: A big drama unfolded at the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) meet in Meerut, where party veterans and office-bearers had assembled for stock-taking exercise, post defeat in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
While Shamsuddin Rain, party in-charge of Western UP was addressing workers, a physical fight broken out between two factions. A couple of leaders got engaged in physical altercation and also hurled abuses at each other. After lot of chaos & pandemonium, the party meet was postponed for a later date.
Taking stern action for the indiscipline, the party supremo has suspended many troublemakers from the party. Action has also been taken against former minister Yogendra Jatav, former district president Prabudh Jatav and former district party chief Subhash Pradhan. All of them are said to have been expelled from the party.
These leaders have been accused in the past, of involvement in anti-party activities. Existing district chief Mohit Jatav accused them of pursuing anti-party agenda and also misbehaving with party workers. He claimed that these people also tried to coerce others by brandishing pistol. Some partymen accused Jatav of forcing his way & using his musclemen for threatening other, a claim which he denied outrightly.
The chaos broke out over a proposal to dissolve the party unit over disastrous show in recently held polls. Yogendra Jatav voiced his protest against Western UP party in-charge Shamsuddin Rain and this is said to be the trigger behind physical altercation. Shamsuddin warned Jatav of action for indiscipline & disruption of party meet but the latter was unrelenting. When other members protested, a scuffle and fistfight broke out.
