New Delhi: Bihar day or Bihar Diwas is celebrated with much passion every year on March 22. The day is marked as the formation day of the Bihar state. The state government has declared this day as a public holiday that is applicable to offices, companies and schools which fall under the jurisdiction of Central and State government. A lot of social events take place on this day. However, due to the pandemic, the events might happen virtually.
The day is not only celebrated in India but in different countries as well including Canada, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Trinidad, Mauritius and Britain. The day is celebrated today, i.e. March 22 because on this day Britishers sliced out Bihar from the Bengal Presidency in 1912.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar greeted the people of Bihar on the occasion.
