New Delhi: Love could be an inspiration, support, blessing, misery, and in some cases, a reason to take bizarre steps just to spend some time with your loved one. Though sometimes, these actions could bring trouble and inconvenience to others.
In a similar case from eastern Bihar’s Purnia district, a young man who happens to be an electrician, would often disconnect the power supply of an entire village for a good 2-3 hours in evening, just to meet his girlfriend in dark.
The matter came to light when the residents of Ganeshpur village learned that none of their neighboring villages were going through any such power cuts but them. The villagers were experiencing these power disruptions frequently at a particular time in the evening for past several months.
After realizing that other areas were not facing any such power cuts during that interval, the villagers decided to dig out the reason behind it, The Tribune reported.
The residents of Ganeshpur were stunned to find that the electrician was behind the regular power cuts in their village as they caught him red-handed along with his girlfriend.
Anguished by his neglectful act, villagers reportedly thrashed the electrician and made him parade the village after shaving his head as a punishment.
The electrician admitted to the villagers that he would cut the power supply of the village whenever he wanted to meet his girlfriend.
However, after a mutual assent from all, the villagers got the couple married in the presence of Sarpanch and other council members of the area.
“We have come to know about the incident but will act once we receive a formal complaint”, the local police station in-charge Vikas Kumar Azad was quoted saying by The Tribune.
