New Delhi: Amidst the communal violence taking place in various places in India, a Muslim family in Bihar has set aside a different example. The family performed the last rites of a Hindu man, who used to work in their shop for over two decades. A video is going viral on social media which shows Mohammad Rizwan Khan carrying the body of Ramdev Sah on a bier.
Reportedly, Sah used to work at the hosiery outlet of Khan in Patna. He worked at the shop for 25 years and was treated like a family member.
Sah died at the age of 75 years last week. Besides, he was cremated as per the ritual of the Hindu religion by Khan and his family. The last rites were attended by many Muslim neighbours.
As per the locals, Sah came to Khan’s shop over two decades ago and the latter was impressed by the former’s simplicity.
“He was like my father. When he came to my shop looking for a job, he must have been around 50. I told him you won’t be able to do heavy work. Mr Sah told me that he is good in accounting and can manage the books,” Khan said.
“As age caught up with him and Mr Sah was not able to perform his duties, I asked him to take rest. I also told him that his salary will be paid and he doesn’t have to worry about anything,” he added.
Khan stated that Sah was more like a guardian to him.
When asked about the current communal tension across the nation, Khan stated that it is not the true nature of human beings. “What is being shown on television doesn’t depict the correct picture. When a child gets injured we don’t ask for his or her religion, we provide first aid. Similarly, Hindus attend our functions and we attend theirs.”
Recently, a tailor named Kanhaiya Lal was beheaded by two Muslim men who posted a video of claiming their deed to be an avenge of the insult committed to Islam.
