New Delhi: Following the counting of votes ended in Uttar Pradesh, the results became clear for every candidate. The BJP won the election for the second time in the state. Samajwadi Party won 111 seats followed by Apana Dal (12). Priyanka Gandhi-led-Congress won only 2 seats in the 403-member assembly.
Ahead of the election, Gandhi had promised to give 40% of the party’s ticket to women in the election. Gandhi also promoted the move by giving the slogan ”Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon”.
Among the women candidate, Congress fielded Archana Gautam, who is famous as a ‘Bikini girl’, from Hastinapur in Meerut just within 2 months of joining the party.
According to the results issued by the Election Commission of India, she suffered a huge loss from her constituency.
Loses security deposit from Hastinapur
In Hastinapur, BJP candidate Dinesh won the election by receiving a total of 1,07,587. Samajwadi Party leader Yogesh Verma stands in the second position with 100,275 and Bahujan Samaj Party leader Sanjeev Kumar came in the third spot with 14,240.

Archana Gautam got only 1519 total votes or 0.66% of the total votes, losing her deposit. In the constituency, there is a total of 2,30,276 votes.
When does a candidate lose a security deposit?
The rule made by the Election Commission says a candidate must get more than 1/6th of the total number of valid votes cast in any constituency to save his/her security deposit.
Loses magic in election
Archana Gautam usually shares photos and videos on Instagram. With this, she has made more than 7,50,000 lakh followers. However, she could garner even a lakh vote in the election.
Amid the election, her film titled ‘IPL’ was also released. She had made the announcement on February 25 on social media accounts. Earlier, she also worked in Tamil films. In 2018, Gautam won Miss Bikini India.
