‘BJP doesn’t take rotten potatoes’: Mithun Chakraborty over 21 TMC MLAs in touch with me statement

Famous Bollywood actor and BJP politician again claimed that 21 MLAs of the ruling Trinamool Congress in Bengal are indirectly in his touch.

New Delhi: Famous Bollywood actor and BJP politician claimed that 21 MLAs of the ruling Trinamool Congress in Bengal are indirectly in his touch. He said while addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Kolkata on Saturday. Notably, Chakraborty was talking about his earlier remark about some TMC MLAs joining the BJP. He said, ”I am in touch with 21 MLAs of Mamata Banerjee’s party, I said this earlier and again, I stand by my point. I request you just wait for the time.”

He added that there is no mutual understanding inside the BJP to allow the TMC MLAs to join the party. And, the actor also said that he was aware of the objections within the party to taking Trinamool leaders. ”We don’t take rotten potatoes,” said Mithun quoting a few leaders.

He also made it clear that the TMC leaders are in touch with him but we won’t tell the exact number.

Notably, Mithun Chakraborty has come to the city to hold a meeting with the BJP leader ahead of the much-awaited Durga Puja.

On the recent remark of Banerjee on the ‘misuse’ of CBI and ED. Mamata Banerjee had said that she is confident to say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not behind the ”misuse” of the central agencies.

Chakraborty said over Banerjee’s remark, ” Yes, I think she is right. It is the court’s decision. What can we do? Really, the PM is not behind this, giving orders to the agencies. I earlier did say, if you have not done anything wrong, if you are clean, can go home and sleep peacefully, nothing will happen.”
