New Delhi: Moradabad, a city in Uttar Pradesh, witnessed a chilling incident on Thursday evening as 30-year-old Anuj Chaudhary, a prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, was shot dead outside his residence. The shocking attack took place when Chaudhary was enjoying a leisurely walk near his apartment complex.
Unknown assailants on motorcycles approached Chaudhary and opened fire, leaving him critically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Chaudhary succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment, leaving the community in shock.

Hemraj Meena, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Moradabad, confirmed the incident and revealed that a complaint had been filed by the victim’s family. The police have taken swift action and registered a case against two individuals named Amit Chaudhary and Aniket, as identified in the complaint.
Anuj Chaudhary had previously contested the block chief elections from Sambhal’s Asmoli block, though his attempts were unsuccessful. While the exact motive behind the attack is yet to be definitively established, Chaudhary’s family has pointed fingers at political rivals, raising suspicions of a politically motivated crime.
The police have been quick to respond to the situation, initiating legal proceedings against four individuals connected to the incident. Authorities are actively working to apprehend the suspects and have assembled five dedicated teams for this purpose.
In an official statement, the Moradabad Police addressed the situation, stating, “There was personal rivalry between the two parties. A case has been registered against four people. Five teams have been formed to arrest the accused. Strict legal action will be taken after arresting the wanted accused soon.” The police are committed to thorough investigation and swift justice.
