New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has courted controversy again, this time over his outlandish claim on stone-pelting incidents. He said that it was the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which was paying Muslim boys to throw stones during processions as this would benefit it in elections, however, he cited people’s complaints for levelling this charge. He said that he was receiving complaints, which hint at ‘BJP design’ but it’s not proved yet.
Congress leader’s ‘wild’ allegations raised the hackles of BJP and it tore into him and the party for keeping its tradition of appeasement. Rubbishing his allegations, the party has termed it baseless and false.
Congress is FRIEND, PHILOSOPHER & GUIDE OF FAKE NEWS especially when it comes to defend rioters & terrorists – After 26/11 too, without proof, tried to blame Hindus.. in Batla encounter they called the encounter fake..
Today this..But is Congress accepting where stones came from? pic.twitter.com/DLLhjVLfJM

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala called him a ‘guide of fake news’ and accused the party of shielding the community and also stoking communal tension.
Madhya Pradesh minister Vishwas Sarang also slammed him and said that the ‘Congress party has a history of fuelling riots to gain power’.
Notably, Khargone in Madhya Pradesh witnessed rounds of communal violence after a group of miscreants hurled stones at Ram Navami procession.
Cong’s clean chit to rioters sparks row
Digvijay Singh’s allegations has enough potential of opening a Pandora’s Box as the police team is still interrogating the stone-pelters in Jahangipuri communal violence and nothing of this sort has emerged. Foreign hawala connection is also being probed as cops suspect that there was a planned conspiracy behind attack during Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra. In Rajasthan’s Karoli district, the main suspect Matlub is still on the run and police are hunting for him. There too, suspicion of radical outfit PFI’s involvement has not been ruled out.
Despite the nefarious designs by rioters under scrutiny, the Congress party has chosen to give a clean chit to miscreants & stone-pelters. Inspite of advocating punishment for rioters, Congress leader’s remarks is as dubious as allegations against the BJP that the latter is targeting a certain community.
