BJP to AAP, then back to BJP: Curious case of Kesar Singh Solanki in Gujarat polls

Within a day of joining AAP, the Matar MLA has returned to the BJP fold leaving the opposition party red-faced.

New Delhi: In an interesting rather unusual turn of events, Matar MLA Kesar Singh Solanki made a switch to rival Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) & then returned to the ruling party within a day of making switchover.

The saga of his party switchovers in the run-up to Gujarat Assembly elections is a hot topic in the political circles.

The MLA from Matar Assembly constituency snapped ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after being denied a ticket for contesting Assembly polls and crossed over to rival camp led by Arvind Kejriwal. He joined the AAP on Thursday, giving it an ammo to mount attack on the ruling BJP.

However, within a day of joining AAP, the Matar MLA has returned to the BJP fold leaving the opposition party red-faced. Kesar Singh Solanki may be in the crosshairs of many for his flip-flops but it has also dealt a blow to ‘connivers who persuaded him’ to break away from the ruling party in hope of good prospects in the rival camp.
