‘BJP treats PM Modi like God…’: Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge targets Karnataka govt in Chitradurga

Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that BJP members call PM Modi a God and treat him like one. He called it a dictatorship and said that it needs to go away.

New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a public meeting at Aikyatha Samavesha in Chitradurga, Karnataka. The state will be holding Assembly Elections this year and the political tussle between BJP and Congress has already begun. Kharge targeted the Basavaraj Bommai-led BJP government in Karnataka.

Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that BJP members call PM Modi a God and treat him like one. He called it a dictatorship and said that it needs to go away. Targeting the state government, he said that Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharastra are intelligent states, but BJP and Bommai ruined the state in the name of caste and religion. He alleged that BJP divided the people in Karnataka.

Questioning the government on jobs, he said 30 lakh government posts are vacant, and PM Modi is not filling them. He added that 15 lakh jobs are reserved for SC-STs, and the central government is not filling these posts as if the poor get uplifted, the government will be thrown away. He said that people will have reservations and jobs, only if the constitution and democracy are preserved.

He questioned the PM on his promise of 2 crore jobs per year and farmers’ income being double.

Talking about Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, Kharge said that millions of people across the country are supporting the Yatra and Rahul is fighting against price rise, unemployment and social unrest. 

Meanwhile, ahead of the Assembly elections, CM Basavaraj Bommai has announced a cabinet expansion. Even BJP is targeting Congress to maintain their hold in the state.
