BJP wins 4 out 7 seats in bypolls; check vote percentage, winners and runner-ups list

The results of the by-poll in six states were announced by the Election Commission today.

New Delhi: The results of the by-poll in six states were announced by the Election Commission today. The election was held in Bihar, Haryana, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh. According to the data, the BJP managed to secure 4 out of 7 seats in the six seats.

BJP wins 1 seat and RJD gets 1 in Bihar

In Bihar, the by-poll was held on two seats — Gopalganj and Mokama. In the Mokama assembly, RJD leader Neelam Devi won the election while Gopalganj’s seat went to BJP. Neelam Devi got 53% votes while Sonam Devi from BJP was the runner-up in the seat.

In Goplaganj RJD was runner-up with 40% votes against the BJP’s 41.6% to Kusum Devi.

BJP bags Haryana’s Adampur seat

In Haryana’s Adampur, the BJP candidate Bhavya Bishnoi won the seat with 51% votes. On the seat, Congress candidate Jai Parkash was declared runner-up with 39% votes.

Shiv Sena of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray made clean sweep in Andheri East

The Shiv Sena of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray candidate Rutuja Ramesh Latke received 76% of the total votes. Ironically, the BJP and Congress did not field any candidate for the seat, leading to an easy win for Latke.

BJD loses Odisha Dhamnagar seat to BJP

In Odisha where Naveen Patnaik has the stronghold could not make win his candidate of Dhamnagar. BJD leader Abanti Das got only 43% of votes as opposed to 49% for Suryabanshi Suraj from BJP.

TRS defeats BJP in Munugode

Telangana Rashtra Samithi which has the stronghold in Telangana politics defeats the BJP’s candidate Kamatireddy Rajgopal Reddy in the Munugode by-poll. TRS’ Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy bagged 42% votes while BJP’s Kamatireddy received 38% votes.

UP’s Gola Gokrannath goes into BJP’s pocket

BJP candidate in Gola Gokrannath, Aman Giri, secured 55% votes to win the seat. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party’s Vinay Tiwari gave a good fight to Giri and received 40% votes.
