BJP leader & actor Mithun Chakraborty holds roadshow in Tripura

Addressing the public meeting, he said that BJP has done good work in the state and claimed that the party will come into power again.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty held a roadshow in the Majlishpur Assembly constituency of Tripura ahead of the state assembly polls. Addressing the public meeting, he said that BJP has done good work in the state and claimed that the party will come into power again.

As Chakraborty flew off to Tripura, he was joined by party vice president Dilip Ghosh and West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari.

The former Rajya Sabha member from TMC joined BJP ahead of the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections and is now campaigning for the party in Tripura. He also claimed that the party is not anti-Muslim. While he was at the airport, the actor said that BJP was never anti-minority and the party wants the betterment of India’s Muslims.

His remarks invited backlash from TMC who alleged that BJP is trying to do communal politics for votes and that if they actually want better for Muslims, then they should remove the CAA and NRC.

Meanwhile, BJP’s big faces Smriti Irani, party president JP Nadda and Tripura CM Manik Saha have also held their public meetings and rallies in the state.

The assembly polls in Tripura are to be held on February 16.
