Boundary wall of ATS damaged after being hit by debris, says Noida CEO

The demolition drive of the 100-meter tall Supertech Twin Towers in Noida was completed at 2:30 PM on today.

New Delhi: The demolition drive of the 100-meter tall Supertech Twin Towers in Noida was completed at 2:30 PM today. After the inspection of the area, it was found that the 10-metre boundary wall of the nearby ATS society was damaged. The development was announced by Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of Noida Authority. However, no further news of damaged has been reported.

The demolition drive was carried out by the Noida authorities after the Supreme Court order on August 12. In the demolition work, 3,700 kilograms of explosives were used.

”10 metres boundary wall of a nearby society, ATS has been damaged after being hit by the debris. No information of damage from anywhere other than this has been received: Ritu Maheshwari, CEO Noida Authority,” said Ritu Maheshwari.

How was the twin tower demolished?

For the demolition work of Apex and Ceyanne, Mumbai-based Edifice Engineering and its South African associate company, Jet Demolitions were roped in by the authorities. Before the demolition work begins, the residents of the area were asked to vacate the area by 7:30 PM.

It is reported that the demolition work cost Rs 20 crore. The building fell to the ground just 15 seconds after the explosion. The debris of 55,000 tons, generated after the demolition will take 90 days to get cleaned.
