By-Poll Results: List of winners, candidates, total votes in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal & Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh’s Lumla witnessed Tsering Lhamu winning uncontested as no opposition party fielded their candidates.

New Delhi: Constituencies in five states witnessed the counting of votes in by-polls, along with the results for the Assembly Elections in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya. By-polls in Maharashtra were important from the point-of-view of clashes between the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance and Maha Vikas Agadhi, and Congress emerged victorious here.

By-elections were held in Maharashtra’s Chinchwad and Kasba Peth, Jharkhand’s Ramgarh, Tamil Nadu’s Erode (East) and West Bengal’s Sagardighi. On the other hand, Arunachal Pradesh’s Lumla witnessed Tsering Lhamu winning uncontested as no opposition party fielded their candidates.

Congress’ Dhangekar Ravindra Hemraj won in Kasba Peth with 73309 (52.98%) votes. In Jharkhand’s Ramgarh Sunita Choudary of AJSU Party won with 50.67% votes, beating Congress by a margin of about 22,000 votes.

Congress’ Bayron Biswas beat TMC’s Debashish Banerjee in Sagardighi. E.V.K.S. Elangovan from Congress and BJP’s Ashwini Laxman Jagtap are leading with decisive margins in Erode (East) and Chinchwad respectively.
