New Delhi: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar today announced by-poll dates for the Jalandhar parliamentary constituency and four assemblies — Sohlong (Meghalaya), Jharsuguda (Odisha), Suar (UP), Chhanbey (UP).
The by-poll elections are scheduled to be played on May 10th and the counting of votes will be held on May 13th. Also, voting for Karnataka assembly election will be held on May 10, and counting to take place on May 13.

Election Commission on Wayanad Bypolls:
The Election Commission also said that they are not in a hurry to declare a byelection to the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat as the trial court has given Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who was disqualified as a member, 30 days time to file an appeal.
While addressing the press conference, the CEC said the Surat trial court has given Rahul Gandhi 30 days to seek a judicial remedy for the matter.

Karnataka Election 2023 Dates:
Today, the Election Commission announced the dates for Karnataka Assembly Elections. EC said voting will be held on May 10 while the counting of votes will be held on May 13.
The EC said that the notification for Karnataka elections 2023 to the 224-member assembly will be issued on April 13. The last date for the candidates for filing their nomination papers will be April 20 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations will be April 24.
