New Delhi: The custom officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport made a big catch on Wednesday and recovered about 45 pistols from a couple that landed from Vietnam.
The couple are Indian nationals, reportedly husband & wife. They were intercepted and arrested by the custom officials as they were found to be in possession of at least 45 pistols, all reportedly fully functional.
Though an investigation is underway to find out whether guns are real or not but the National Security Guard (NSG) has found them to be ‘completely real’.
The arrested couple have been identified as Jagjit Singh & Jaswinder Kaur, both residents of Gurugram in Haryana. Their 17-month daughter was also travelling with them from Vietnam.
According to reports, the couple landed at IGI airport from Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam on July 11 via flight no VJ 895. They were caught while moving towards the Exit Gate of the airport.

According to reports, Jagjit Singh was handed over 2 trolley bags by his brother Manjit Singh, who silently slipped out of the airport. Manjit had landed at IGI from Paris on the same day when the couple arrived from Vietnam.
According to officials, the woman passenger helped her husband remove and destroy the tags of the trolley bag carrying the guns.
The police is investigating terror angle and also exploring possibility of any involvement of any syndicate.
This is not a one-off incident by the couple under arrest. The duo admitted on record that in an earlier instance, they brought 25 pistols to India from Turkey.
