New Delhi: Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been arrested by CBI in the liquor policy scam case. He was questioned by the investigation agency for about eight hours on February 26 and CBI went on to arrest Sisodia in the evening.

CM Arvind Kejriwal reacted to the news and said that Manish Sisodia is innocent and called it ‘dirty politics’.

BJP leaders including Gautam Gambhir and Kapil Mishra gave their first reaction on the arrest and called Sisodia a ‘thief’.

Aam Aadmi Party also gave their first reaction to the arrest and called it a ‘black day’ for democracy. The party also labelled it as a fake case and accused BJP of the political arrest.

Just before arriving for questioning Manish Sisodia said that false cases are being lodged as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “afraid” of CM Arvind Kejriwal. He even did a road show and visited Raj Ghat before arriving at CBI’s office.

CM Kejriwal said that Sisodia is going to be arrested soon. Before Manish Sisodia arrived at the CBI office, CM Kejriwal said that the blessings of children and their parents are with him. He added that when one goes to jail for the country and society, then it is glory.

AAP workers protested against Manish Sisodia being questioned by CBI and 50 people were also detained by Delhi Police.
