New Delhi: High-level inquiry has been ordered following massive protest by the students at Chandigarh University in Punjab’s Mohali on Saturday after a girl allegedly leaked private videos of her hostel mates, following which they were circulated online.
A case has been registered and the accused girl has been arrested.

What Chandigarh University said:
Dr. R.S.Bawa, Pro-Chancellor, Chandigarh University said, “there are rumours that 7 girls have committed suicide whereas the fact is that no girl has attempted any such step. No girl has been admitted to hospital in the incident.”
Culprits will not be spared
DIG Ropar Range, Gurpreet Bhullar said the preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused woman student made a video. The investigation is being carried out by SSP Mohali. He further said, culprits will not be spared. He also appeal to students and their parents to maintain calm.

Manisha Gulati, Chairperson, Punjab State Women Commission said, ” this is a serious matter, an investigation is underway. I am here to assure parents of all students that the accused won’t be spared.”

Punjab School Education minister HS Bains has appealed to Chandigarh University students to remain calm and had assured them that the guilty won’t be spared.
