Chhattisgarh: Speeding car mows down crowd attending Dussehra festivities, shocking VIDEO emerges

New Delhi: In a heart-wrenching incident, a crowd of people attending Dussehra festivities in Jaspur region of Chhattisgarh were run over by a speeding car on Friday. The reckless driver rammed into the crowd and knocked them down instantly while many were flung by the impact.

The group of people were hit by the rampaging vehicle, when they were attending a procession organised on the occasion of Dussehra. According to reports, 1 person died on the spot while more than a dozen are injured.

Reports said that the driver was caught and also thrashed by the mob. At the time of incident, 2 people were sitting in the car, allegedly carrying ‘ganja’, a banned narcotics drug.

BJP trains guns on state govt, calls it ‘engineered attack’

After the video of horrific incident went viral, Bhupesh Baghel-led Chhattisgarh government has come under attack from the BJP.

Amit Malviya, BJP IT cell chief lashed out at the Baghel government for ‘engineered attack’ on a particular community. He condemned the incident and questioned the Baghel govt for alleged profiling and assault of Hindus.

He also slammed the laxity of Baghel govt during Durga idol immersion. He asked as to why the state government didn’t put barricades to prevent such disturbance during the procession.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel took to Twitter and announced that those guilty won’t go unpunished. He condoled the loss of lives in the horrific tragedy and also announced probe into the incident.
