Civil Services Day 2022: Meet toppers of last 5 UPSC CE and check where they are posted now

New Delhi: Every year, many students appear in the exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to become part of the policymaking of India. Some of the aspirants also leave their high-paid jobs to pursue their dream of clearing UPSC.

It is not easy to even pass the examination but every year a candidate secures the top rank in the exam. In this artile below, we have prepared the list of candidates who topped in the examination in the past five years. One can also draw inspiration from them and also become the topper of the UPSC.

2020

In the examination of UPSC CSE examination 2020, Shubham Kumar was declared the topper. Kumar belongs to Bihar’s Kathihar district. He is also an engineering graduate from IIT Bombay. Earlier in 2019, Shubham Kumar had also cleared the UPSC CSE Examination but he quit due to a rank of 290. After clearing the exam, Shubham was given the home cadre of Bihar in the Indian Administrative Services.

2019

In UPSC CSE 2019 examination, Pradeep Singh’s Haryana secured the first rank. Singh is from Haryana’s Sonipat district. He cleared the examination in his fourth attempt. He is currently serving in the Indian Administrative Service in his home cadre.

2018

In UPSC CSE 2018, Kanishk Kataria got the first rank in his first attempt. He left his job as a software engineer at Samsung to join the Commission. He is serving as SDO in Rajasthan’s Mount Abu.

Notably, Kataria is a big soccer fan. He recently shared the highlights of a football match on his tweeter account.

2017

In the year 2017, Hyderabad’s Anudeep Durishetty got the first rank in the civil services examination. It was his fourth attempt. He is currently posted as District Collector, Bhadradir Kothaguden in Telangana.

2016

Nandini K R, who comes from Karnataka’s Kolar district, secured the first rank in the civil services examination in 2016. Nandhini is currently bestowing his services as Chief Executive Officer of the Ballari Zila Parishad.
