New Delhi: In a major embarrassment for the Congress party, its YouTube account was deleted by the social media giant. The reason behind deletion of Congress handle is not yet known but the party has got into damage control and is looking to restore the account.
The grand old party runs its YouTube channel under the name – Indian National Congress.
The party informed today via press release that its account on YouTube got removed today.

Our YouTube channel – ‘Indian National Congress’ has been deleted. We are fixing it and have been in touch with Google/YouTube teams.
We are investigating what caused this – a technical glitch or sabotage.
Hope to be back soon.

‘Glitch or sabotage’ under probe
“We are fixing it and have been in touch with Google/YouTube teams,” the party said on its official Twitter handle.
The party said that what led to sudden disappearance of its YouTube account is not yet known. However, the party said that it is investigating the matter to find out whether it was a technical glitch or sabotage.
“We are investigating what caused this – a technical glitch or sabotage. Hope to be back soon. Team INC Social Media,” it said.
The embarrassment for Congress also became a talking point on social media as many took jibes at the grand old party while others shared memes to ridicule its inefficiency & ineptness in managing IT accounts.
“Can’t manage your channel, how do you think you can run the country,” said a Twitter user.
