New Delhi: SP Lakhimpur Kheri Sanjeev Suman on Thursday said that six accused has been arrested for the rape and murder of two Dalit sisters in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Thursday.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Suhail, Junaid, Hafizul Rehman, Karimuddin, Arif and Chhotu.
However, Junaid was arrested after an encounter with the police, he also received a bullet injury.
All the accused have been booked under IPC 302, 376 & POCSO act.

# SP Lakhimpur Kheri Sanjeev Suman said, all the boys other than Chotu hailed from Lalpur village in Lakhimpur Kheri. Chotu who was a neighbour of the girls had introduced the two girls to these boys. He was also arrested.
# Accused were friends with deceased girls. Girls were y’day lured to farms & raped by Sohail & Junaid. After the girls forced the accused to marry them, Sohail, Hafizul&Junaid strangulated & killed them. They then called Karimuddin & Arif & hanged girls to eliminate proof.
# Laxmi Singh, IG, Lucknow Range said, dead bodies of two girls were found hanging from a tree in a field outside a village in Lakhimpur Kheri.
She also said no injuries were found on the bodies. “We’ll try to expedite the probe,” she said.
