New Delhi: The Western Ghats range runs down through the South West Side of India’s treasure of wildlife. It has an impressive number of species, mammals, plants, and wildlife sanctuaries.
Last night a local journalist reported about the death of 1-year-old female leopard through a car on 60 km road from Palani to Kodaikanal.
In the video, three wild boars could be seen ravaging a leopard, which reportedly died after being hit by a vehicle on the Palani-Kodaikanal road while trying to cross the road. The Palani forest department were informed about the mishap but before they could arrive & remove the dead corpse, three wild boars were seen ravaging the dead leopard. A group of tourists passing through the stretch recorded the video & uploaded it on social media.

According to divisional forest department Anil Kumar, this was the 12th leopard to have died on the highway.
Officer added “when the temperature rises leopard starts wandering in the search of water. And it was very unfortunate for him to know about a new death incident. Anil Kumar told that 12 leopards died last year in November.
Three died in a road accident, one in a train accident, Four in a sugarcane field, and one by the villager. However, 8 have been rescued.
