Delhi Auto driver grows small garden on roof of his vehicle for keeping passengers cool

Talking about his idea, the Delhi autorickshaw driver said his fellow drivers also ask for tips to impress customers.

New Delhi: Earning daily wages by driving autorickshaws is not an easy task for anyone. It can be an easy task to earn more than other drivers if someone thinks out of the box. In a similar manner, an autorickshaw driver in Delhi is getting the attention of a lot of people by setting up a small garden on top of his rickshaw.

The video of his auto is also going viral on the internet.

Passengers get protection from searing heat

The autorickshaw driver is identified as Mahendra Kumar. Due to the soaring temperature, touching 45 degrees Celsius in New Delhi, Kumar decided to install a ”rooftop garden” to keep his three-wheeler cool.

Reportedly, the think patch of plants keeps Kumar’s vehicle cool. As expected, his unique idea also attracted a lot of people to travel in his rickshaw.

Kumar said most of the people who travel in his auto click pictures or shoot videos. He added that his idea is inspired by his ”own small bit” for the environment. On the top of the auto’s roof, there are a variety of 20 crops.

”The garden works like a natural AC (air conditioner). My passengers usually get excited for travelling his autorickshaw and they don’t mind paying me an extra 10-20 bucks,” said Kumar.

Fellow drivers ask for tips

Talking about his idea, the Delhi autorickshaw driver said his fellow drivers also ask for tips to impress customers.

Apart from the garden, Kumar also installed two mini coolers and fans inside his vehicle.

Kumar, who is a father of three children, said his customers usually share tips use in his auto.
