Delhi Black-marketing Crackdown: Police arrest 4 men found selling oxygen concentrators for Rs 70,000; recovers 419 units

During interrogation the accused also revealed that they also have a warehouse in Khullar Farm, Mandi Village.

New Delhi: At a time when people in the National Capital are dying due to shortage of oxygen, beds and oxygen concentrators there are people  who are working overtime to save a businessman who was a part of a gang hawking oxygen concentrators three times the cost.

Four people were arrested from a restaurant and bar in Lodhi Colony in connection with alleged black marketing of oxygen concentrators.

Over 419 oxygen concentrators were recovered by Delhi Police, which were being sold for over Rs 70,000 each.

An FIR has been registered under sections of the Essential Commodities Act and Epidemic Diseases Act was registered against four accused Gaurav Singh, Satish Sethi, Vikrant, and Hitesh, all residents of Delhi.

Delhi Police said that during patrolling in Central Market, Lodhi Colony, they came across a restaurant which was found open amid lockdown.

What was found during the raid?

When Police raided the restaurant, one person was found sitting with a laptop and was getting orders for oxygen concentrators via an online portal. On searching the restaurant premises, a total of 32 boxes of oxygen concentrators with nine-liter and five-liter capacity were found along with a box of thermal scanners and another box containing N-95 masks.

What the accused revealed?

During interrogation the accused also revealed that they also have a warehouse in Khullar Farm, Mandi Village.

It is said that after the raid, Navneet Kalra has gone underground. The surprise search operation by Delhi Police took place all over the Indian Capital on Thursday.

It is also said that Kalra is hiding in a resort close to Haridwar. Also, messages about his impending arrest are doing the rounds in Delhi and Haryana, UP.

On the other hand, over 400 oxygen machines were seized from a warehouse in Khullar Farms, Chattarpur. One Gaurav Singh, who reportedly worked closely with Kalra, was arrested.
