Delhi govt issues new detailed SOPs for schools amid surge in Covid-19 cases; Check here

Students and staff are barred from exchanging their lunch with others. Schools are asked to create quarantine rooms inside school premises

New Delhi: In view of the sudden surge in the Covid 19 cases in and around the national capital, the state government of Delhi has introduced new and detailed Standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the schools.

The schools in the state have been asked to conduct a daily symptoms check, use thermal scanning as well as hand sanitization on a daily basis among various other measures.

As per the new guidelines, the govt has asked the school authorities to adopt the recommended safety measures against the deadly coronavirus, in compliance with the revised SOPs issued by the administration.

1. The staff and students of the schools will not be allowed to enter the institution without masks and thermal scanning.

2. School are asked to conduct symptoms check on a daily basis, along with daily health monitoring of the students.

3. Students and staff are barred from exchanging their lunch, books, etc with others.

4. Schools are further asked to create quarantine rooms inside the school premises.

5. Parents are advised not to send their children to school if they happen to be ill.

6. Schools are asked to participate in the vaccination drive, for students who are eligible to get the Covid vaccine.

7. The institutions are further asked to avoid crowding, especially during entry or exit.

Meanwhile, the national capital has seen a rapid rise in COVID-19 cases in the past few days. Delhi had logged 965 fresh Covid cases on Thursday, while earlier on Wednesday it was 1,009, 632 on Tuesday, and only 501 on Monday.
