Delhi: LG orders probe into stamp duty theft complain against CM Kejriwal

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Wednesday ordered a probe against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after receiving a complaint of stamp duty theft.

New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Wednesday ordered a probe against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The probe has been ordered in connection with a complaint regarding stamp duty theft. Baijal has transferred the complaint to Chief Secretary for further action.

According to media reports, the letter to Delhi’s Chief Secretary stated that CM Kejriwal sold 3 plots in exchange for Rs 4.54 crore. However, the value of the plots has been Rs 72.72 in papers.

It is further reported that Kejriwal sold the plot through her wife Sunita. The market rate of the plot is said to be 45,000 square yards. On paper, the rate has been shown Rs 8,300 square yards.

The complaint against Kejriwal was received by Delhi LG on August 28. The two of these properties were in the name of Arvind Kejriwal himself while the third property was in the name father Kejriwal’s father Shri Govind Ram, as per the media reports.
