New Delhi: In yet another shocking incident, a 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his friend in north Delhi’s Wazirabad area.
He had also burnt the body of his friend , police said on Saturday.
The Police has identified the accused as Munishddin, a resident of Wazirabad.
According to reports, Munishddin, had an affair with the wife of the victim, said police.
The incident came of light after Police was information about a charred body lying in front of Ram Ghat, Wazirabad.
Police said the body bore around 90 per cent burns.
Blood spots were also found in the bushes near the spot where the body was found. Also, a paper cutter and a matchbox were recovered.
Police identified the victim as Rashid, a resident of Wazirabad, said a senior police officer.
Both the victim and the accused were working together as plumber and electrician respectively and they became good friends.
Police said as their friendship grew, they also started visiting each other’s house.
It was during this time when Munishddin and Rashid’s wife developed a relationship.
Munishddin and the woman-wife of Rashid hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him, police said.
According to the accused, he took Rashid to Ram Ghat where they consumed alcohol and Munishddin stabbed Rashid in an inebriated condition, police said.
He even slit the throat of Rashid and burnt his body. Munishddin also tried to destroy all evidence and also the identification of the body.
When the CCTV footage of the area was checked Police found a person with Rashid. Following Later, police zeroed in at Munishddin, they said.
