Delhi records highest ever Corona cases at nearly 20,000, just before weekend curfew

In last 24 hours, Delhi recorded 19,486 new coronavirus cases today, its highest single day spike so far. 141 deaths were recorded taking the total number of cases to 8,03,623 and death toll to 11,793.

New Delhi: Hours before the nation capital goes into weekend curfew to curb spread of deadly Coronavirus, the city recorded its highest ever Covid-19 cases in 24 hours.

The Coronavirus has acquired monstrous shape in Delhi as the city is witnessing unprecedented rise in fresh Covid-19 cases.

In last 24 hours, Delhi recorded 19,486 new coronavirus cases today, its highest single day spike so far. 141 deaths were recorded taking the total number of cases to 8,03,623 and death toll to 11,793.

It is already the worst affected city in the country, having overtaken Mumbai days back. When the financial capital has remained limited to about 8000-11000 cases, Delhi has been witnessing continuous surge in numbers.

Close to 1 lakh Corona tests are being conducted on daily basis while positivity rate is risen to 19.69%. Close to 77,000 people were vaccinated with jabs in last 24 hours.

1-Only takeaway services in Delhi restaurants, dine-in operations to remain closed.

2-Enforcement of COVID norms will be strictly implemented in public places.

3-One weekly market per day per municipal zone to operate to arrest spread of coronavirus in Delhi.

4-People attending weddings in Delhi to be given e-passes to facilitate movement during weekend curfew

5-Malls, gyms, spas, auditoriums in Delhi to remain closed.

6-Cinema halls to operate with 30 per cent capacity.
