New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday that the national capital will host biggest shopping festival of the country, starting early next year.

“A 30-day Delhi Shopping Festival will be held from Jan 28-Feb 26 (in 2023). This will be the biggest shopping festival of India. We are starting it now. We hope to make it the biggest shopping festival in the world,” said Arvind Kejriwal in a major announcement today.

The Chief Minister said that the government will also lure domestic as well as international tourists to make them experience the culture of Delhi, a world heritage city as declared by UNESCO.

“This will provide an unparalleled shopping experience. Entire city will be decorated, exhibitions will be organized. In this mela, people will get heavy discounts,” said CM Kejriwal.

Yesterday, the Chief Minister had said that he will make a big and important announcement for the people of Delhi at 12 noon today.

Speaking to press, Arvind Kejriwal said that this festival will give an impetus to Delhi’s economy and will also be a big employment generator.

“It’ll be an opportunity for businessmen to increase their business. It will be a huge opportunity to present Delhi on an international level,” CM Kejriwal said.

Yesterday, Kejriwal government also announced ‘Rozgaar Budget’ to accelerate economic growth. The Chief Minister said that the Rozgaar Budget will spawn new employment opportunities, generating about 5 lakh more jobs in next 5 years.

He said that more than 1.78 lakh youth have got employment in last 7 seven years in the city. Earlier, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also claimed that Delhi govt’s ‘Rozgaar Bazaar’ helped generate over 10 lakh jobs to get employment in the capital.
