‘Digital India Experience Zone’ to debut at G20 Summit – A preview of India’s digital transformations

New Delhi: As the G20 Summit approaches in New Delhi, signifying the culmination of India’s G20 presidency for the year, preparations are underway for an exciting showcase – the ‘Digital India Experience Zone.’ This innovative exhibit will shine a spotlight on India’s digital progress, welcoming member nations and distinguished guests to witness the transformative potential of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPIs) firsthand.

The primary objectives of this exhibition are to demonstrate the initiatives that have fostered “Ease of Living, Ease of Doing Business, and Ease of Governance” within India.

Carefully curated, seven pivotal initiatives have been selected to exhibit India’s best practices in implementing DPIs. These initiatives include Aadhaar, DigiLocker, UPI, eSanjeevani, DIKSHA, Bhashini, and ONDC, as revealed by a government statement.

The narrative of India’s Digital Revolution, which commenced in 2014, will come to life through virtual reality during the summit, underscoring the significant milestones and progress achieved in the digital realm. A focal point of this exhibition will be the Digital Tree display, elucidating the evolution of Digital India initiatives.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has offered a glimpse of what awaits G20 Summit delegates at the ‘Digital India Experience Zone’ through a video preview:

Bhashini Exhibit: This segment will illustrate real-time speech-to-speech translation capabilities, covering multiple Indian languages and six UN languages.

ESanjeevani Exhibit: Attendees will be introduced to the digital platform that facilitates online consultations with doctors from diverse specialties, real-time health analysis, and e-prescriptions, thereby enhancing healthcare accessibility.

DIKSHA: A digital platform offering a treasure trove of educational resources will provide an interactive experience for visitors eager to explore its extensive content.

DigiLocker: Demonstrating India’s contributions to streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency across sectors such as education, finance, banking, travel, transport, real estate, legal, and judiciary.

UPI Exhibit: This showcase will spotlight the global applications of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), enabling visitors to make seamless transactions via QR codes.

Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC): An exhibit to demonstrate the extensive collaboration among sellers, customers, and network providers on a grand scale.

G.I.T.A. Application: A unique creation designed to offer answers to life-related questions in alignment with the holy scripture Shrimad Bhagwad Gita.
