New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old girl was hospitalised with serious facial injuries after two men on a bike threw acid at her in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area today.
The victim’s father informed her condition is critical.
He said his daughters one aged 17 and the other 13, were out together in the morning when two men on a bike threw acid at his elder daughter and flew from the spot. The accused had covered their faces.
The girl was with her younger sister at the time of the incident. She has raised suspicion over two persons known to them. One person has been detained and further investigation is going on: Delhi Police

According to senior police officer M Harsha Vardhan, one suspect has been detained.
The incident was captured in a CCTV camera.

Swati Maliwal also reacted to this incident and said the DWW team is reaching the hospital to help the victim.
She said they will get justice for the daughter.
She further tweeted, The Delhi Commission for Women has been fighting for years to ban acid in the country. When will the governments wake up?
