Fact Check: Truth of Prez candidate Draupadi Murmu visiting RSS HQ, pic tweeted by Prashant Bhushan

Prashant Bhushan shared the image to train guns at Modi government but critics say that it’s driven by an agenda and has no truth in it as the photo is fabricated.

New Delhi: Days ahead of the Presidential election in the country, advocate & activist Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday posted a morphed picture of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nominee Draupadi Murmu and claimed that she visited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) HQs in Nagpur.

Tweeting her photo, he said that this gives enough indications of her being a ‘rubber stamp’ President.

“BJP’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu visits Mohan Bhagwat at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur! Is there any doubt that she will just be a rubber stamp and not be able to function independently?”, read his tweet.

Truth of the fabricated picture

Prashant Bhushan shared the image to train guns at Modi government but critics say that it’s driven by an agenda and has no truth in it as the photo is fabricated.

The picture posted by Prashant Bhushan is manipulated & twisted. The morphed image is not original but made by clubbing two different pictures.

One of the pictures was taken from a tweet uploaded by RSS official handle on March 11 where Mohan Bhagwat can be seen offering flowers alongwith General Secy Dattatreya Hosabale to Maa Bharti. The duo can be seen offering flowers & seeking blessings.

Another picture of NDA Presidential nominee Draupadi Murmu was taken with Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. This image was traced doing a reverse Google search, in an article posted by The Quint.

Both the images were intertwined in a manner that Murmu would envelop over Hosabale in the image, who is standing close to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in the picture.

As the photo made waves on the social media, many called him out for posting fake image. The former AAP leader has deleted that tweet.
