‘Feeling helpless’, says Chidambaram over state of affairs in Congress

“I also feel hurt and helpless when I see pictures of Congress workers raising slogans outside the residence of a colleague and MP. The safe harbour to which one can withdraw seems to be silence,” Congress veteran tweeted.

New Delhi: Senionr Congress leader P Chidambaran on Thursday expressed displeasure over the Punjab Congress fiasco and the subsequent criticism of Gandhi family by the Group 23 leaders and said that he was ‘feeling helpless’ over the situation.

“I feel helpless when we cannot start meaningful conversations within party forums,” P Chidambaram said in a tweet.

He also added that in such situations the safe harbour which one could find is silence.

Further, taking exception to protests and slogan shouting outside Kabil Sibal’s residence, he lamented that this shouldn’t have happened.

“I also feel hurt and helpless when I see pictures of Congress workers raising slogans outside the residence of a colleague and MP. The safe harbour to which one can withdraw seems to be silence,” Congress veteran tweeted.

Following the Punjab Congress drama, Kapil Sibal had publicly spoken about the ills plaguing the grand old party and had demanded an urgent CWC meet to address all the issues. He also raised concerns over ‘headless’ Congress as this was pushing party into crisis, one after the other.
