New Delhi: Gangster-turned-don Mukhtar Ansari’s son Abbas Ansari was booked today for issuing ‘open threats’ to government officials at a public gathering.

Abbas Ansari, contesting the UP elections on Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) ticket, said at the poll rally in Mau that once Samajwadi Party-led govt comes to power, he will do first hisab-kisab with them before any transfer posting. He said that he has spoken to Akhilesh Yadav about this and asked him not to allow any transfer unless they have ‘paid back for their sins/malpractices’.

“I’ve told SP chief Akhilesh Yadav that no transfers or postings will happen for six months. First, ‘hisab kitab’ will happen with them. Only then their transfer certificates would be stamped,” he said on Thursday.

After the video of Abbas Ansari’s controversial remarks got widely circulated, the police have lodged a case against and booked him under sections of IPC.

30-year-old Ansari is contesting elections from Mau Sadar constituency. Voting will be held for this seat in seventh phase on March 7. His father and mafia don Mukhtar Ansari is not in pol race as he is lodged in jail.

Abbas Ansari will be facing off with BJP candidate Ashok Singh in the seat, the BSP’s state president Bhim Rajbhar, and Cong nominee Madhavendra Bahadur Singh.
