“Foreign conspiracy behind cloudburst”: Telangana CM KCR on heavy rains and flood [VIDEO]

“There are several reports that these cloudbursts are taking place as a result of a conspiracy by foreign sources”

New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has just got his name registered in the list of Indian politicians who have come into the spotlight for their bizarre statements sometime or the other.

In his recent visit to state’s flood-affected Bhadrachalam, Rao met people who have sheltered at the relief camps due to heavy rains and floods in the area, while also announcing a relief package of Rs 10,000 for every displaced family.

Though, while speaking in a public meet, KCR made a weird comment calling the phenomenon of cloudburst a ‘foreign conspiracy’.

Addressing the people in Telugu, Rao said that there is a new concept of cloudburst in the country, like what happened in the Godavari and caused heavy floods.

“There are several reports that these cloudbursts are taking place as a result of a conspiracy by foreign sources. They first did a cloudburst in Leh-Ladakh, then in Uttarakhand, and now in Godavari region”, he said.

KCR further said that ‘these cloudbursts are being done to destabilise the country’.

Talking about the high water level in Kadem river in Nirmal district, he said, “It is God’s miracle that the dam survived. Its maximum capacity is about 2.90 lakh cusecs but during this flood, it reached 5 lakh cusecs and it is a miracle it is still standing. Thankfully, there is no loss of life in spite of the heavy floods”.

Apart from visiting several areas in the region, Rao also assured the effected people that they will be provided with proper shelter and basic accomodities by the state government.
