Free bus rides for women in Haryana, on occasion of Raksha Bandhan

Haryana Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma on Friday said that state roadways buses will offer free ride to women on the Rakshan Bandhan next month.

New Delhi: The Haryana government has announced two-day free bus rides for women in the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The free bus ride service during Rakhi was started by state govt last year.

The free bus ride will continue this year too, from 10th August (12 noon) to midnight of August 11, announced the Haryana government.

Haryana Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma on Friday said that state roadways buses will offer free ride to women on the Rakshan Bandhan next month. The festival of Rakhi celebrates the bond between brother & sister and will be observed on August 11.

The Minister said that both women and children upto the age of 15 years can avail the free travel facility on all “ordinary” buses of Haryana Roadways.

The Minister also informed that free bus rides on Raksha Bandhan were being offered for last several years, but had to be stopped during COVID-19 pandemic.
