Meet Bharat Jain, the world’s richest beggar, who can be found plying his trade on the bustling streets of Mumbai.

New Delhi: When one hears the term “beggar,” images of poverty, destitution, and unkempt appearances often come to mind. However, there are individuals who have transformed begging into a surprisingly lucrative profession, shattering conventional perceptions and redefining the boundaries of this age-old practice. Meet Bharat Jain, the world’s richest beggar, who can be found plying his trade on the bustling streets of Mumbai.

Despite facing financial instability and being denied the opportunity for formal education, Jain has emerged as a remarkable success story. His net worth stands at an astonishing Rs 7.5 crore, according to a report by the Economic Times. Jain is a married man with a family comprising his wife, two sons, his brother, and his father. What sets him apart is his ability to generate monthly earnings ranging between Rs 60,000 and Rs 75,000 through his beggary.

Jain’s wealth extends beyond his income from begging. He owns a valuable 2BHK flat in Mumbai worth Rs 1.2 crore and possesses two rental shops in Thane, which generate a monthly income of Rs 30,000. To maximize his chances of receiving substantial contributions, Jain strategically positions himself at prominent locations such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station (CSMT) or Azad Maidan. He manages to accumulate Rs 2,000-2,500 per day, dedicating around 10 to 12 hours to his profession.

Jain’s family resides in a modest 1BHK duplex apartment in Parel. Despite his financial achievements, his loved ones have consistently advised him to abandon begging and pursue other avenues. They have opened a stationery store, enabling them to support themselves through legitimate means.

However, Jain remains resolute in his decision to continue his unconventional profession, choosing to chart his own path despite the concerns and objections of his family members.
