New Delhi: Renowned poet Kumar Vishwas, who found himself in the centre of controversy over brazen assault on Ghaziabad doctor by his security men, took to X (formerly called Twitter) to share his clarification in the case.
The poet-turned-politician, defending himself said that he didn’t try to co-opt and spin a narrative because of his celebrity status, as claimed by many on social media. Notably, the famous poet has been in the crosshairs of people over brutal attack on Ghaziabad based doctor by his guards and also the poet presenting the case as an ‘assault on his convoy’ rather than the real story of VIP brazenness.
The poet also informed that his guards didn’t act in haste, they only reacted as per threat perception by the menacing car.
Vishwas, in line of fire, issues clarification
Kumar Vishwas, issuing a detailed clarification over yesterday’s doctor assault case, claimed that he was himself witness to the menacing driving by doctor.
“I myself saw the car trying to break into the security cordon from both sides. He was driving very rough. Later, I got to know that the gentleman was engaged in heated argument with the security staff,“ Vishwas said.
“He also pushed & shoved the security men and tried to snatch the batch on their uniforms. Sensing trouble, I sent my manager to defuse the situation but the man ended up giving 2 slaps to him,” Vishwas wrote in his post.

Kumar Vishwas also said that he himself spoke to security staff about the mishap incident after reaching Aligarh, to which he was told that ‘tracking threat perception was their job and they were doing that only.’
Denying his involvement in the highway scuffle case, he also lashed out at his critics & detractors and said that they were milking the opportunity at his expense.
How doctor’s claims left internet incensed
Kumar Vishwas broke the news of ‘attack on his convoy’ via X but soon after the pictures of injured doctor gave it a complete turnaround.
Doctor’s version of the incident left everyone shocked & appalled at the brazenness of incident and how the guards came gunning for him for avoidable mistake. Later, a video also surfaced which showed that the guards reportedly took the doctor to some bushes and then beat him black & blue.

Netizens were livid over abuse of power by VIP’s guards but what even bothered many was famed poet’s attempt to gain public sympathy by ‘fake reporting’. Many hit out at Kumar Vishwas and accused him of harassing & torturing common people by his armed guards.

What actually happened
Ghaziabad Police is investigation the whole matter. Vishwas’ security guards and the doctor both have filed cases against each other. The doctor has been accused of trespassing VIP’s security cordon while poet’s guards have been accused of brutally assaulting a commoner and giving death threats.
On Wednesday, Kumar was headed to Aligarh from his Vasundhara residence. It was near Hindon river that the altercation began and accusation & counter accusations started. Kumar claimed that the man in questioned roughed up his guards after barging into the cordon while the latter said that he was targeted & thrashed for not fault of him.
