New Delhi: Residents of Anjara Le Garden society in Greater Noida caught a man on Sunday, who allegedly filmed a woman while bathing. The accused has been caught after 20 days of the incident by the collective efforts of the people living in society as well as social media users.
The act first came to light through CCTV footage from a camera in society last month, after which a police complaint was filed.
The police however failed to reach the accused, and the residents of society had to make efforts to nab the man. The accused was caught in the society itself, where he allegedly performed the hideous act.
As per a news report by a Hindi daily, the society residents had to launch a social media campaign after the incident in April, in order to make the police file a complaint.
How the accused was caught
The accused was caught when one of the society residents spotted him roaming in the market complex. People living in the society claimed that they feel unsafe living there, accusing the society of an improper security system.
As per a news report by Navbharat Times, already two murders have been taken in the society in past. Previously, the society residents had performed a sit-in protest against the builder of the housing for not fulfilling his promises.
Meanwhile, the accused was handed over to the police, who have been sent to the jail after being presented in the court.
