New Delhi: The challenge by Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee was dismissed by the Varanasi District and Sessions Court. The title of the Gyanvapi mosque and the land surrounding it was challenged by the committee and the civil suits will be heard in detail and an examination of evidence will follow.
The matter surrounding the mosque near the Kashi Vishwanath temple came into the limelight after five Hindu women filed petitions seeking the right to worship Maa Shringar Gauri on the outer wall of the mosque complex.

A bench comprising Justices D Y Chandrachud, Surya Kant and PS Narasimha had adjourned the case to October 20. The bench added that all issues would have to be first argued before the district court.
