Gyanvapi mosque survey: SC asks civil court in Varanasi to not proceed with proceedings in the case till Friday

Hearing the Gyanvapi mosque case on Tuesday, the Supreme Court ordered the Varanasi district magistrate to ensure the area where a shivling was purportedly found is protected without obstructing the Muslim community’s right to worship.

New Delhi : The Supreme Court ordered the proceedings on Gyanvapi mosque survey in trial court to be stayed for today. SC said that matter will be taken up tomorrow.

Earlier, the top court had also lifted the prohibition imposed by a Varanasi court on Muslims from entering the Gyanvapi Mosque in Uttar Pradesh.
