Har Ghar Tiranga campaign: This is how Indian Coast Guard is celebrating the tricolor (VIDEO)

The Indian Coast Guard has been sharing videos of how it is preparing for the mega event, scheduled between Aug 13-15.

New Delhi: As the nation completes 75th year of Independence, the Centre has outlined broad guidelines to make the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign a roaring success and is making appeal to all citizens to take ‘ownership’ of the national flag.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is himself exhorting citizens to take active role in this drive and ensure hoisting and displaying the national flag at their homes. In his recent Mann Ki Baat programme, PM Modi urged the citizens to turn the campaign into mass movement by displaying the national flag at their homes and also asked the younger lot to take it to next level by using the Tricolour as the display picture on their social media accounts.

A lot many institutions and government organisations including the Armed Forces have come forward to take the lead in celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Indian Coast Guard has been sharing videos of how it is preparing for the mega event, scheduled between Aug 13-15.


In its latest display of national fervor, the coast guard officials hoisted and honoured the national flag in the Bay of Bengal. And, it was not in isolation, the West Bengal fishermen took part in the drive.

Tweeting the video, the Coast Guard said, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav not only limited to land territory but also at Sea.”

Yesterday, the Coast Guard shared a video of the flag unfurling at the bottom of the sea. In the tweet, it wrote, “the idea is to invoke a feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people.”


The centre has launched ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ drive, hoping to mobilize 20 crore households & 100 crore people to hoist the national flag in their homes from August 13 – 15.
