Hearing Azaan, UP Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak stops his speech in Lucknow (VIDEO)

Early in the day, a video from Varanasi took the internet by storm as a BJP MLA & his supporters were seen chanting Hanuman Chalisa at the roof.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak stopped his speech mid-way after hearing Azaan sound, blaring out from a mosque nearby. A video of him taking ‘pause during Azaan’ landed on social media around noon and went viral in no time.

The Deputy CM is winning applause from people on social media for showing due regard for the religious prayers at a time when there are widespread calls to remove loudspeakers from mosques.

The incident happened when Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak was delivering a speech in Lucknow’s Indira Nagar area, was counting on the numerous contributions of Baba Saheb,  on occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.

UP Deputy CM is earning accolades from netizens over respecting the religious sentiments of other religions. Also, as the month of Ramzan is currently underway, this gesture by Deputy CM is seen as a step in right direction and also setting new examples of governance.

It was only after the Azaan got over, Brijesh Pathak resumed his speech and addressed the gathering.

This comes at a time when the country is witnessing uproar and unrest in many parts of the country, over loudspeakers in mosques. From Lucknow in UP to Mumbai in Mahasrashtra, a clamour has begun with leaders as well as locals demanding ban on loudspeakers. Many saffron groups are also installing loudspeakers at streets & the crossroads, so that Hanuman Chalisa could be played out and register their protest against ‘nuisance’ created by loudspeakers.
