Hijab Row: Qaida chief praises Karnataka student for ‘Allahu Akbar’ slogan; slams Pakistan and Bangladesh

In the video he can be heard saying that he was very much impressed by “a sister” (Muskan) and by her raising “cries of Takbeer”.

New Delhi: Days after Karnataka Hijab controversy, now in a major cause of concern, Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has appealed to the Indian Muslims to raise their voice against the hijab row.

In a new video that has been released, the Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri heaped praise on college student Muskan Khan who had vociferously raised “Allahu Akbar” slogans while responding to the “Jai Shri Ram” chants of the students.

The Hijab controversy began when a group of students raised objections to her visiting the educational institution in a burqa. The Qaeda leader also recited a poem to praise Muskan and attacked countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh for banning hijab.

In the video he can be heard saying that he was very much impressed by “a sister” (Muskan) and by her raising “cries of Takbeer”.

His video comes following rumours that he had died. However, the video of Zawahiri was verified by SITE Intelligence Group.

Also, the thumbnail of the video read, ‘The Noblewomen of India’ along with a poster.
Earlier this year, the Karnataka hijab controversy had started in January, where some girl students in a government school in Udupi were stopped from attending class in hijab. Since then the protest erupted.
After which the matter was taken to the Karnataka High Court, and the matter was ruled out and it was said that hijab is not an essential part of Islam.
