New Delhi: Despite 2nd wave of Covid-19 ravaging through the country, people at large are content with government’s handling of the pandemic, ABP news and C Voter found out in survey.

According to the Survey, as high as 74% respondents were satisfied with the way Modi government dealt with the pandemic. Most of them were of the opinion that Modi government went extra mile in ramping up the medical infrastructure in short time, did some extraordinary crisis management despite sudden emergency arising due to lack of oxygen and it was because of government’s adept management that death toll was restricted to high of around 4,000 during peak of pandemic.

And, this contentment with government’s management kept fluctuating. Around April 15, about 57.7% people were content while it declined to 51.2% during Bengal campaigning. During counting on May 2, it further dipped to 37.3%. After PM Modi announcement of ‘one nation, one vaccine’ on June 7, the numbers suddenly went up. By June 16, those satisfied with government’s Covid response went up to 52.1%.

However, 21% of the respondents were not impressed with government’s Covid-19 crisis management. According to them, Centre was to blame for the sudden Coronavirus surge and ministers and lawmakers did very little to set examples before public;c. They believed that it was because of complicity at the top including the bureaucracy that resulted in such spike in cases.

About 5% people didn’t have any opinion on Centre’s Covid crisis management. They either declined or were not able to decipher – whether Modi government was good or bad at handling the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ABP News-CVoter Survey captured the mood of nation on issues like Govt’s handling of pandemic, oxygen shortage, reporting of Covid-19 cases and deaths. The survey was conducted with a sample size of about 40,000 people, spread throughout the length & breadth of country.
